Winter Weather Update – Snowplow Priority Routes
Snow is expected to begin Friday night and continue through Saturday, and our Public Works crews are preparing to keep roads in Wamego as safe and passable as possible.
Snowplow Priority Routes
- Red Routes – First priority (main roads and emergency routes)
- Blue Routes – Secondary priority, addressed once red routes are in good shape
Please refer to the attached map to see how streets are prioritized.
How you can help our crews work safely and efficiently:
- Park in driveways when possible to allow plows to clear streets without obstacles
- Pile snow beside your driveway, not back into the street
- Give plow trucks plenty of space — if you’re behind one, stay back to avoid flying salt or sand, and so operators can see surrounding traffic
Our crews will continue working throughout the storm, but snow-covered and icy conditions can take time to address—especially while precipitation is ongoing. We encourage everyone to drive cautiously and limit travel if possible.
