In regards to Coronavirus (COVID-19), the City of Wamego is following all CDC and KDHE guidelines, in addition to Executive Orders released on March 17, 2020 by Governor Kelly.  At this time, the City will not be reserving the shelter house or depot for the next eight weeks.  The train will not start running prior to May 21st.  The City of Wamego will discontinue allowing all outside agencies the use of City buildings until further notice.  The Wamego Aquatic Center is closed until further notice.  The Recreation Department has canceled Little Tykes T Ball and will make decisions as necessary on other activities. 


Although utilities through the City of Wamego are not regulated by the KCC, the City of Wamego will follow KCC guidelines.  The City is waiving all credit card/online fees and encouraging all customers to pay online or by phone 1-877-885-7968.  The City also has a drop box on the north side of the building.  Please only come into the city office if you have not traveled and are not showing any symptoms, and it is necessary for you to visit in person.  Please call 785-456-9119 if you need a permit or inspection and we will make plans to accommodate. 


All open meetings will continue at this time.  If you are attending, we ask that you follow all CDC and KDHE guidelines, including keeping 6 feet distance between other people.

The City of Wamego currently has a Water/Sewer project being completed on Valley Street.  This project will continue.  Please be assured that the company, Nowak, is following CDC and KDHE guidelines. 


We ask that community members follow CDC and KDHE guidelines.  Practicing social distancing is important to slow the curve.  It is also important to be a good neighbor and check on those around you.  Please continue to keep Wamego great.
