City Commission Minutes 12/06/2019

Special Meeting:

 

The Governing Body of the City of Wamego, Kansas, met in a Special Session on Friday, December 06, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. in the City Commission Chambers at 430 Lincoln Avenue, Wamego, Kansas.  Those present were: Commissioners; Richard Weixelman, Clifford Baughman and William Ditto.  Mayor Thomas Beem and Commissioner Leslie Dugan phone in.

 

Also present were:  City Manager, Stacie Eichem and City Clerk, Shanda Jahnke.

 

McMahon Environmental Contract:

 

The City Manager presented the Governing Body with an agreement to contract McMahon Environmental to operate the water for the City at a cost of $3000 per month for 12 months with the option to cancel with 30 days written notice. Commissioner Baughman moved, seconded by Commissioner Ditto to accept an additional agreement with McMahon Environmental.  Motion carried.  Aye: 5, Nay: 0.   

 

 

Water/Sewer Valley Project Bid:

 

Mark Bachamp was present to discuss the Valley water/sewer bid that was tabled from the previous regular meeting. Mark reported that he had spoken with NOWAK the original bidder and several contractors, due to timing and the scope of the project, several potential contractors would not bid if the project went back out for new bids with a different project scope. After a lengthy discussion, Mayor Beem moved to table this issue until the next regular meeting to allow the City to research additional bonds. Commissioner Baughman seconded the motion. Motion carried.  Aye: 5, Nay: 0.
