4th Street Project Update

Friday, February 02, 2018

It is time to get the Second Phase of the Fourth Street Project underway.  We expect the underground utilities installation to start first, with the contractor to be onsite Monday, February 5th.  They will start installing service waterline connections to the new twelve inch water main along the north side of Fourth St., from Redwood Drive to the Walnut Street intersection.

That week the contractor will continue finishing the water line, and (weather permitting) the Walnut Street intersection will be closed Friday, February 9th to permit installation of underground stormwater improvements.

Removal of the Fourth Street surface will begin (weather permitting) on Monday, February 19th, with Redwood and Sycamore Drives to be closed to through traffic.  It will be necessary for residents to park along nearby streets.

For local trash service, there will be dumpsters placed at the Redwood and Sycamore intersections for those customers living along Fourth Street, between Redwood and Walnut St.

Since removal of mailboxes is required, residents with boxes on Fourth Street will need to arrange for mail to be held at the Post Office.

Also, residents who would like to secure work on their own driveway with the City’s contractor at their own cost may contact Dale Culbertson, Project Coordinator, at the above number.
