The State of Kansas was recently ranked one of the top 10 happiest states by the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index. It is named after the Kansas River which flows through it, which in turn was named after the Kansa tribe, which inhabited the area

Kansas is located in the Midwestern United States and is bordered by Nebraska on the north; Missouri on the east; Oklahoma on the south; and Colorado on the west. The state covers and area of 82,277 sq mi and is divided into 105 counties with 628 cities. Kansas has an estimated population of 2.8 million residents.
